DRONES in agriculture

This new short course will provide you with an introduction into the exciting world of drone technology. It will cover the practical hands-on use of the technology, as well as the CASA regulations that govern how it can be used. You will capture and use imagery to analyse and interpret farm production data. This information will be represented in maps so that the learner develops a spatial understanding of the data.

WHO IS THIS COURSE DESIGNED FOR?

Farmers interested in using drones for production purposes on-farm.

DELIVERY

Blended (2 days face-to-face instructional training plus online learning).

All practical training is carried out on the “Phantom” Drone, a class set is provided. Participants may bring along private drones as a talking point.

Online learning may take between 10 and 12 hours.

  • AVIW3038 Operate and manage remote pilot aircraft systems

  • AVIY3073 Control remote pilot aircraft systems on the ground

  • AHCAGB402 Analyse and interpret production data

  • CPPSIS3011 Produce basic maps
