Chainsaws are common tools on farm, there are a number of courses available through AgSkilled from basic operation and maintenance to falling trees manually.


Who should attend the course?

Courses can be tailored depending on your skills and experience. From complete beginners to experienced operators,. there’s a course available for you.


What does the course consist of

Content and duration will depend on the specific units of competency you’re completing.


Units of competency

  • FWPCOR2205 Follow WHS policies and procedures

  • FWPCOT2253 Fell trees manually (basic)

  • FWPCOT2254 Maintain chainsaws

  • FWPCOT2256 Trim and cut felled trees

  • FWPCOT2259 Cut materials with a hand-held chainsaw


Accredited Training

These chainsaw courses are aligned and delivered against vocational education and training requirements.

Successful completion of assessment tasks will result in achieving a Statement of Attainment and can contribute to a nationally-recognised qualification.

There are a number of Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) that deliver AgSkilled funded chainsaw training across NSW including;

  • TAFE NSW (RTO 90003)

  • Tocal College (RTO 91166)
